03/08/2012: Members of the Cape Ann ARA will be active as W1T from Thacher
Island (NA-148, USi MA001S, WLOTA 0924, Essex County), Massachusetts, from 3-6
August, 2012. Team members include Rick WZ1B, Marie KB1TEO, Ted KR1G, Dave
KD1NA, Kurt AJ1Z, Al N1QEH, John WA1JG, Marco KB1TZG and Jake K1LDL. They will
also activate both lighthouses on the island - Cape Ann [Thacher Island South]

04/08/2012: Augusto, I2JJR/6 and Sivino, IW6NZY/p will be active on 4 August
2012 from the Borgo Fortificato di Moscufo (WCA I-12501, DCI PE-042, WW Loc.
JN72AK) also Chiesa S.Maria del Lago (DAI AZ-0093) located in the Comune di
Moscufo [PE] (DMI 4527). They plan to operate from 0630 UTC till 1100 UTC on on

04/08/2012: Vincent, F4BKV/p and Gil, F4FET/p will be active from Ile d'Er
(EU-107, DIFM MA-013) on 4-5 August 2012, then from Ile Raguenes (EU-074, DIFM
MA-047) on 6 August, and finally from Ile de Batz (EU-105, DIFM MA-018, WLOTA
0680) on 7-8 August. They will use their our own callsigns therefore it is not
necessary to contact each of them on the same band. A single QSL per IOTA with
both callsigns will be used. Each station will have about 300w output and
antennas for 40/20/17/15/10m, powered by Honda 2kw generator. Even if not the
best period for DX, they will try to focus outside EU as much as possible. QSL

04/08/2012: Bill, K9HZ, will once again be active as J68HZ from his villa at
Labrelotte Bay, Castries, island of St. Lucia (NA-108, WLOTA 1336, WW Loc.
FK94MB) from 4-19th August 2012. QRV on 40-6 metre CW, SSB, with hopefully
special emphasis on RTTY. Equipment will be Elecraft K3 with 3 element beam for

04/08/2012: Members of the Old Barney ARC (www.obarc.org/) will be operating as
N2OB from "Old Barney", the Barnegat Lighthouse (Admiralty J1220, ARLHS USA-039,
WW Loc. FM29WS) on Long Beach Island (NA-111, USi NJ001S), Ocean county, New
Jersey, on 4 August 2012 (rain date 5 August) from about 1300 UTC to 2100 UTC.

04/08/2012: Operators Stefan SA0AEK, Alexander SA0AEX and Oskar SA0ASG will be
active on 4-10th August 2012 as SC0UT/5 from the Scout Camp Boomerang 2012,
located on Vassaro [Vässarö] island ((EU-084)), Öregrund archipelago, Uppland
province, Uppsala county, Sweden. The group will be QRV on 80-12 metre SSB. QSL

04/08/2012: Roberto, I2RNJ and Piero, IK2IHY will be active holiday style as
SV5/homecalls from Faliraki, on the east coast the island of Rhodes (EU-001,
GIOTA DKS-006, MIA MGD-028, WLOTA 0045, WW Loc. KM46CI), from 8-11 August, 2012.
QRV on the HF bands, SSB only, using IC-706 100W and multiband dipole. QSL via

04/08/2012: Alexander UF0A and operators from Minusinsk will be active as
homecall/0 on 4 August 2012 from the Oglahty Fortress (WCA UA-00182, COTA-RU
C-005, RCA RC-103), located in Aleksandria Dendrology Park (WFF RFF-091),
Ukraine. This activity is to celebrate in honor of the 1000 years of the

05/08/2012: Mario, IK0PEA, will be active as 9H3EA from Bugibba, near La
Valletta, island of Malta (EU-023, MIA MM-001, WLOTA 111) from 5-17th August
2012. Plans are to be QRV holiday style on the HF, with focus on the Digital

06/08/2012: Tomas, SM3DMP, will be QRV on the HF bands from 6-9th August 2012

Nature Reserve Döbritzer Heide (WFF DLFF-142). Plans are to be QRV on 7028,

08/08/2012: John, 9M6XRO and Steve, 9M6DXX will be operating as 9M4SLL from
Pulau Layang Layang, Spratly Islands (AS-051) on 7-13 August 2012. Activity will
be on 80-10 metre CW, SSB and RTTY, using two stations with linear amplifiers to
vertical antennas on the edge of the ocean. QSL via M0URX (please use his OQRS

LoTW as soon as possible after the end of the operation (within a few days), but

08/08/2012: Giacomo "Jack", IZ3DBA, will be active from the island of Corsica
(EU-014, DIFM TK-001, MIA MCO-001, WLOTA 1390) as TK0/IZ3DBA from 8-16th August
2012. Jack thinks he will operate from Corsica for 2 weeks, but for necessity it
is possible that he will return home to Sardinia for the last week of his
holiday. His purpose for operating from Corsica is to activate some new

09/08/2012: Chuck, W4XP, will be active in his spare time from Diego Garcia

10/08/2012: Mike, VE2XB, plans activity from St. Pierre & Miquelon (NA-032,

there are openings. Mike will make a special effort to give first time CW DX

COTA-YL Z-007, WW Loc. KO07UA). They plan to work from 1000 UTC on the 11th of
August till 1300 UTC on the 12th of August as YL11WCA on 80-10 metre CW and SSB

13/08/2012: A group of veterans led by Lion, VU2JHM, will be on the air from
Minicoy island (AS-106), Union Territory of Lakshadweep, with the callsign VU7M
from 13-22 August 2012. They will also be activating the Minicoy lighthouse
(ARLHS LAK-009, WLOTA 2958, WW Loc. MJ68MG) for the ARLHS ILLW (17-18 August).
This activity also counts for the Lakshadweep Marine Biosphere Reserve (WFF
VUFF-103). Team members include Laxman VU2LX, Arasu VU2UR, Kanti VU2GSM, Ramesh
VU2LU and Govind VU2GGM. Basic equipment only. No computers, No linear
amplifiers, No Beam antenna, no Sponsorship. All the expenses are borne by the
individuals themselves. Paper log manually prepared then and there, while

16/08/2012: A YL DXpedition to Fair Isle (IOSA SH-09, WLOTA 1319), Shetland
& Fair Isle (EU-012), using the call sign GB2YLS will take place between
16-22 August, 2012. Their main goal will be the 2012 Intenational Lighthouse
Lightship Weekend (18-19 August - see: illw.net/) when they will activate the
Fair Isle South (Skaddan) lighthouse (ILLW UK0127, ARLHS SCO-079, BARLS A3750,
TWLHD WLH GM-028, Loc IO99EM, WAB NZ16). Team members include Unni LA6RHA,

17th and 20th of August 2012 from Farol da Berlenga (WCA CT-01001, DMHP LR-086)
located on Ilha da Berlenga (EU-040, DIP ES-001, PIP NT-029, WFF CTFF-015, WLOTA

18/08/2012: Helmut, DM2BPG and Erich, DL2HUC will be active on 18 August 2012
as DK0GYB (special DOK: 800ANHALT) from the Castle Roseburg (WCA DL-02137,

18/08/2012: Mike, DL4ABO, will be operating holiday style as DL4ABO/p between
18-25th August 2012 from Foehr [Föhr] island (EU-042, GIA N-017, WLOTA 4067),

Schleswig-Holstein state, Germany. Activity will be on the HF bands, propagation

18/08/2012: The Puerto Rico Amateur Radio League, KP4ES, will be doing a
multi-island activation in the vicinity of Vieques, Puerto Rico, on 18-19th
August 2012. Plans are to activate and qualify the following Puerto Rico
islands: Cayo Afuera/Cayo Real (USi PR047), Vieques county; Cayo de Tierra (USi
PR048) Vieques county; and Isleta Marina (USi PR049), Fajardo county. All
islands are good for Local USi Award "Viques Edition". More info with Otis NP4G

18/08/2012: Mike, VK7FB and Anne, VK7BYL will be active on 18-25th August 2012,
including an entry in the 2012 International Lighthouse/Lightship Weekend (18-19
August), as VK7FB from the Tasman island lighthouse (ILLW AU0101, ARLHS AUS-160,
TWLHD WLH VK-063, WLOTA 0288, Admiralty K3614) and weather station, located on
Tasman island (OC-233). Tasman island is also located within the Tasman National
Park (WFF VKFF-481). Mike and Anne were light keepers on Tasman in 1969 and will
be returning for the ILLW. The Tasman lighthouse has been automated since 1976

28/08/2012: On 30 August the Netherlands will celbrate the official return of
the Dutch astronaut André Kuipers. During his long stay at the International
Space Station he was also active by the callsign PI9ISS. The station will be
active from 28 August until 2 September 2012 from the Noordwijk Lighthouse
(Netherlands 1324, Admiralty B0760, ARLHS NET-019), also the location of PG6N.
During the welcome party on 30 August PA6ISS will be active for the public at a
exhibition. We hope that PI9ISS will join for a moment the station too. QRV on

November 2012 from the following French Polynesian Islands: 2-6 October from
Tahiti (OC-046, DIFO FO-002, WLOTA 0885), no traffic or a very little one. 6-15
October from Huahine (OC-067, DIFO FO-004, WLOTA 1371) on 7 to 28 MHz. 15-19
October from Raiatea (OC-067, DIFO FO-012, WLOTA 1977) on 10, 14 and 18 MHz.
19-22 October from Tahaa (OC-067, DIFO FO-013, WLOTA 3909) on 7, 10, 14, and 18

08/10/2012: Ben, DO1BEN, will be active on 8-14 October 2012 as PD/DO1BEN from
De Cocksdorp, Texel island (EU-038, WLOTA 0043, WW Loc. JO23KD), Frisian islands
archipelago in the Wadden Sea, in the province of Noord Holland. QRV on the HF
bands, mainly using the Digital modes and some SSB. QSL via DO1BEN, Bureau or

11/10/2012: A small group of operators will be active as MX0LDG from Lundy
Island (EU-120, WFF GFF-103, WAB SS14, WW Loc. IO71QD), in the Bristol Channel,
Devon, England, from 11-16 October 2012. They will have 2 stations on the air
between 0600z-0000z each day as the islands power closes down at midnight. They
will also activate the Lundy Island Old Devon Lighthouse (ARLHS ENG-073, BARLS A
5617X, TWLHD WLH G-015, WLOTA 1997). Team members include John M5JON, Peter
M0ILT, Ant MW0JZE and Chris G1VDP. A special QSL card will be available through

18/10/2012: Aki-san, JA1NLX, will be signing JA1NLX/VK4 between 18-23 October
2012 from Hamilton island (OC-160), the largest inhabited island of the
Whitsunday islands archipelago, Queensland, Australia. Plans are to be QRV on,
or near, the IOTA frequencies on each band, CW and SSB, from 40-10 metres. He
will use a random wire wounded on fishing pole and radials with ATU, mounted on

20/10/2012: The Pine Valley Repeater ARC of Richland Center, WI, assisted by
the Viroqua, WI ARC, will operate as W9PVR during the 2012 W/VE QSO Party (20-21
October). Plans are to activate and qualify Coumbe island (USi WI049), in the
Wisconsin river, Crawford county, Wisconsin. They will operate SSB, CW, and

10/11/2012: The Araucaria DX Group, in conjunction with the TX3A Team, is
pleased to announce a DXpedition to St. Peter and St. Paul Rocks (SA-014, DIB
OC-03, WFF PYFF-064, WLOTA 0003, Grid Loc. HJ50), Pernambuco State, Brazil,
under the call sign PT0S. The PT0S DXpedition will be on the air from
approximately 10-22 November 2012, located near the scientific research station
on Belmonte islet. Like all things maritime, the exact dates of our travel to
the rocks will be subject to the weather and issues related to the boat. The
operation will have a strong low band focus. There will be a dedicated 160 metre
station operating from sunset to sunrise. A second station will be on 80 and 40
metres at night. During the day they will operate two stations on the higher
bands -- and 6 metres -- based on conditions. RTTY will also be supported. The
group will be using newly designed RX antennas and receiving equipment to allow
small and QRP stations to work PT0S on all bands, but especially on 80 and 160
metres. Operators will be Fred PY2XB (PY2XB/PY0F, PQ0F, VP5/PY2XB, 8P9XB), Peter
PP5XX/PY5CC (PY0FM, PW0T, HK0NA), Tomi HA7RY and George AA7JV. Due to

NI5DX, Buzz, is now serving as QSL manager for 3B8CW, Clive, on Mauritius
Island. Buzz has Clive’s past logs and will be able to confirm contacts
made with 3B8CW from September 1, 2011 onward. Clive is using a Mosley
TA-33 antenna at the present time, but is considering building/buying a
HexBeam to improve his signal and allow operation on the 79-WARC bands.
A QSL card is now being designed and will be printed soon. Please allow
for a short delay in response if sending for a card before they arrive
from the printer. This is generally 4-6 weeks after the order is placed.
