active as VP2MRT on 10-18 June 2010 from Gingerbread Hill, St Peters
Parish, the island of Montserrat (NA-103, WLOTA 1475, WW Loc.

plans to operate CW, SSB and maybe PSK and to participate in the

10/06/2010: Jim,
WB2REM and Glenn, KD2JA will be operating the special call VQ5M from
the Turks and Caicos Islands from 12-14 June during the ARRL June VHF
Contest. This operation will be from Providenciales Island (IOTA
NA-002, WW Loc. FL31VS). Operation for the contest will be on 6 metre
SSB and CW only, with 7 element M2 antenna. QSL via KD2JA (QRZ.com).
Other than the contest operation, from 10-17 June, Jim and Glenn
will be operating on 160-6 metres, CW and SSB with their respective

10/06/2010:
Chris, HG5XA is to be on air as ZA/HA5X between about 10-24 June
2010 from Orikum, Albania, holiday style. Operation is planned from the
town and the beach of Orikum in the Bay of Vlora (WW Loc. JN90RH). Some
lighthouse and/or WFF activity might also take place in this period,
please listen for operator's comments on possible LH or WFF references,
if any. Chris has received military and PTT authorizations to visit
and operate from Sazan Island (EU-169, MIA MA-001, WLOTA LH-0028)
signing ZA0/HA5X. He will attempt to be QRV from Sazan Island for
about a day between 11-23 June, as it depends on WX, whether or not he
can get hold of a generator or he needs to run battery only, etc. This
is not a DXpedition, but a family holiday with XYL Marta, ZA/HA9WM and
two 5 year old daughters, so time for amateur radio is limited and of
lower priority. 50 MHz and portable battery operation will get some special

11/06/2010:
A team of operators from Azerbaijan will be active as 4J0WFF from
Absheron Reserve (WFF 4JFF-018) and/or Gala Reserve (WFF 4JFF-022),
depending on local conditions, on 11-14 June 2010. Both are first
time new ones. Operators include Natig 4J5TT, Boris 4K4K, Serge 4J5A,
Igor 4K6OF, and Alex 4J6WMF. The group will also participate in the
WFF Green Day event (12-13 June). QRV on 40-10 metres, including the WARC

This activity will focus on lighthouse activations from Malta and
Gozo as 9H3BS. The major lighthouse on Gozo will be over the weekend

ARRL June VHF Contest (12-14th June) from Grid Locator EN91OR.
Counts for Railroad Depots On The Air (RRDOTA); AC&J Railroad,
Jefferson, Ohio, (reference OH-0001). Running Kenwood TS-60, 90W and
will be running 2 antennas with a switchbox: Horizontal - PAR OA-50
Loop at around 30ft; Vertical 'DOMINATOR' 5/8 wave GroundPlane at
around 20ft. There will be only one frequency used, 50.225 USB. A

14/06/2010: 24 Hour Scottish Islands Amateur Radio
Challenge. Bob, GM0DEQ will be activating up to 15 Scottish islands
within 24 hours in June using a sea plane as transport. His callsign
will be GB4DTD (Dawn To Dusk). Activity will be on the HF bands,
40-10 metres. QSL via GM0DEQ. The island list is subject to change
due to a few factors governing their sea plane transport. The
departure date will be subject to WX too, and will be from Monday,
14th June 2010, onwards as close to the longest day to maximize

Graham, M0AEP, will once again be active from the island of Montserrat
(NA-103, WLOTA LH-1475, WW Loc. FK86VR) between 14 June and 12 July

He will use a TS480HX into a Carolina Windom (80-10m [incl. 60m], 5
element Eagle 50 MHz yagi on 18' boom and a 50 MHz half-wave vertical.

Dave, N2NL will be active as KH2/N2NL from the island of Guam
(OC-026, USi GU003S, WLOTA LH-0064) starting 17 June 2010, for a period

18/06/2010: Operators
Vinicio HR2MD, Jorge HR2AW, Pedro HR2PAC, Javier HR2J, Henry HR2H,
Carlos HR2CSB and Javier HR2DX will be active 18-20 June 2010 from
Cayo Cochino Pequeño (NA-160), in the Cayos Cochinos marine reserve,
Honduras, using the special callsign HQ3C. They plan to be QRV on all
HF bands using SSB and some digital modes, if conditions allow it.

18/06/2010: RARE IOTA! Operators
Oscar EA1DR, George EC2ADN, Christian EA3NT, Col MM0NDX and Bjorn
SM0MDG are planning a DXpedition to Eilean Mor, Flannan Isles
(EU-118, IOSA OL01, SCOTIA DI25, WLOTA LH-0023), a extremely
difficult island to land on, between 18-21 June 2010. Callsign will
be MS0INT. Last activation was in 2002 (also in 1989 and 1995). They
aim to be active on 80-10 metres trying to get advantage on the best
bands, with 2 simultaneous stations on the air (possibly 3 stations in

Eight operators from the Grantham Amateur Radio Club will be active

(expedition callsign pending) will be active 1-5 July 2010 from the
Cotejuba lighthouse (ARLHS BRA-278, WLOTA LH-2855, WW Loc. GI58RR),
on Cotejuba Island (IOTA SA-060, DIB PA-14), in the Pará State,
northern Brazil, using the special callsign ZX8C. Orlando is a Scout
operator and all QSOs with ZX8C will be valid for the BP Award (PR7JP
manager) and Diploma Baden-Powell the Radio (manager PY2AA). Both
stations also to be valid: IOTA Diploma, Diplomas of WLOTA, ARLHS,

Queensland, during the RSGB IOTA Contest from 1200 UTC 24 July to
1200 UTC 25 July 2010 using 100W into verticals for 40m, 20m, 15m and
10m as a Single Operator All Band Low Power 24 hour entry. He hopes
to be set up early on Saturday 24 July to operate from 0000 UTC using
PSK on 20m and 15m. Later on Saturday he hopes to be available on
the ANZA DX Net which starts at 0515 UTC on 14183 kHz. After that
Craig will go on 20m and 15m PSK until around 1100 UTC and then

EVENTS -
11/06/2010: On 11 June 2010, special event station
GB0NOP will be on the air from Cambridgeshire, England (EU-005, WLOTA
LH-1841). It stands for "Nil Obstare Potest" ("Nothing can
withstand"), the motto of the 514 Squadron. No. 514 Squadron was
formed at Foulsham, Norfolk, on 1st September 1943, as a heavy-bomber
squadron in No. 3 Group. Beginning operations (in November 1943)
with Lancaster IIs, it gradually changed over to Lancaster Is and
IIIs during the summer of 1944, and, in all, over a span of 18
months, flew 3,675 operational sorties. The squadron dropped food
supplies to the starving Dutch people and, subsequently, its aircraft
were busily employed on ferrying liberated POWs to England from
France and Belgium. Bomber Command WWII Bases - Formed 1.9.43 as No.
514 (Bomber) Squadron at: Foulsham, Norfolk : Sep 1943-Nov 1943 and Waterbeach,

The Loughton & Epping Forest Amateur Radio Society (LEFARS) will
be active as GB2AVF on 12-13 June 2010 from the Abridge Village Fete.

on 12 June 2010 from Suffolk, England (EU-005, WLOTA LH-1841) for
the Cold War Museum. The Bentwaters Cold War Museum commemorates the
US Air Force's time at RAF Bentwaters and RAF Woodbridge. The

Within the framework of the commemoration of the 70th birthday of
rendering on order of the Line Maginot special callsign TM70LM will
be active from the following locations: 12-13 June from the Fort of
Hackenberg (DFCF 57-025, WCA F-02450), located in Veckring (CP 57970).
26-27 June from the Fort of Bambesch (DFCF 57-027, WCA F-02452), located
in Bambiderstrof (CP 57690). Activity on all bands according to conditions,
primarily CW and SSB. QSL via F8KGY for QSOs with Fort Hackenberg.

(12-14th June) from Grid Locator EN91OR. Counts for Railroad Depots
On The Air (RRDOTA); AC&J Railroad, Jefferson, Ohio, (reference OH-0001).
Running Kenwood TS-60, 90W and PAR OA-50 Loop at around 30ft. There
will be only one frequency used, 50.225 USB from 1800z-2200z both days,
hunt and pounce outside that window. QSL info: eQSL preferred (send
to N8OFS/P), direct is OK (send to N8OFS/P) to either address listed
on QRZ.com. This operation is also to help celebrate the AC&J (ACJR)

of the whole world are invited to help protect nature and
environment, and to participate in the GreenDay 2010 event by working
from the territories of the national natural parks and reserves of
the world - Especially Protected Nature Territories (EPNT) - included

event takes place between 1200z 12 June and 1159z 13 June 2010. Modes
are CW and SSB, using the 160/80/40/30/20/17/15/12/10 metres. The recommended

13/06/2010: The Friskney & East Linconshire
Communications Club will be running a working station at the
Friskney Show on 13 June 2010. The event will be held at The Friskney
Hall & Playing Fields, Church Road, Friskney, (near Boston) PE22
8RD, Lincolnshire, England (EU-005, WLOTA LH-1841). MX0LFC will be
on the air from 0900 to 1600 UTC. The show usually ends with a fly
