18/03/2012: Look for Hiro, FO/JI1JKW to be active from Rangiroa Atoll (OC-066,
DIFO FO-073, WLOTA 2404), Tuamotu Archipelago, French Polynesia, from 18-22

19/03/2012: A group of amateurs including David GI4FUM, Gilli GI8MIV, Richard
GI4DOH, Kalle DM3BJ and Andre V51B plan to operate in the CQ WPX SSB contest
from the QTH of Andre V51B in Oranjemund, Namibia, over the weekend of 24th/25th
March using the callsign V55B. During the week prior to the contest they will
operate on HF bands including CW and RTTY/PSK31. Their callsigns are now
confirmed as V5/GI4FUM, V5/GI8MIV, V5/GI4DOH and V5/DM3BJ. All QSLs for the

20/03/2012: Hartwig, DL7BC, plans to be active from Mayotte (AF-027, DIFO
FH-001, WLOTA 0376) between 20 March and 6 April, 2012. TO-calls can be used
only for two weeks in a six month period, so Hartwig will begin using TO7BC from
23 March onwards. Beforehand he will use FH/DL7BC. Participation in the CQWW WPX

20/03/2012: Look for John, W2GD, to be active from near Santa Cruz, island of
Aruba (SA-036, WLOTA 0033) as P40W between 20-27 March, 2012. Activity will
include a Single-Op/All-Band entry in the CQWW WPX SSB Contest (24-25 March),
from CQ zone 09. Outside the contest, John will be active on all HF bands and

21/03/2012: A large group of operators from DARC Ortsverband will be active as
DA0HEL from the island of Helgoland (EU-127, GIA-N14, WLOTA 0518, WW Loc.

Rapa Nui] (SA-001, DICE ICE-001, WFF CEFF-027, WLOTA 0319) to coincide with the

contest as CE0Y/NL8F. It's possible his itinerary will allow him to activate one

25/03/2012: The Mesilla Valley Radio Club of Las Cruces, New Mexico, will be
operating special event station K5B on 25 March 2012 in conjunction with the
23rd annual Bataan Memorial Death March Marathon held annually at the White
Sands Missle Range. K5B will operate from 1000z to 2300z, as near as possible to
3.893, 7.225, 14.330, and 21.337 MHz as band conditions permit. A commemorative

21/04/2012: An Oceania Dx Group (ODXG) team of 6 amateur radio operators from
Australia will once again be activating YJ0VK from Nirvan Resort, Port Vila on

5th of May. They plan to operate three stations as often as possible on 160-10
metres, with emphasis on the WARC bands. Modes will be SSB, CW and RTTY/PSK31.

16/08/2012: A YL DXpedition to Fair Isle (IOSA SH-09, WLOTA 1319), Shetland &
Fair Isle (EU-012), using the call sign GB2YLS will take place between 16-22
August, 2012. Their main goal will be the 2012 Intenational Lighthouse Lightship
Weekend (18-19 August - see: illw.net/) when they will activate the Fair Isle
South (Skaddan) lighthouse (ILLW UK0127, ARLHS SCO-079, BARLS A3750, TWLHD WLH
GM-028, Loc IO99EM, WAB NZ16). Team members include Unni LA6RHA, Chantal PA5YL,

09/09/2012: Operators Lance, W7GJ and Bob, ZL1RS will once again team up to do
a 6 metre (Lance) and 2 metre (Bob) EME DXpedition from Niue Island (OC-040,
WLOTA 2139, Grid Loc. AH51) between 9-21 September, 2012. Lance will use the
callsign ZK2GJ, while Bob will probably use his old callsign ZK2RS. For 6m EME,
Lance plans to operate on 50.190 mHz and transmit in the first sequence JT65A

Azerbaijan Ministry of Communications has issued the callsigns 4JS0NG and 4KS0NG

RUSSIAN DX CONTEST 2012 -
The Russian DX Contest team has great pleasure to invite you to take part in
RDXC-2012 held March 17-18, 2012 at 1200z-1200z.
We would like to see you among increasing number of RDXC participants and we
promise you great activity of Russian stations from almost all Russian regions.
We remind you that logs' dead line is 14 days since 2011. But for those
individuals and clubs who aim a spot in the Top 3 list, logs' dead line is 36
hours after the end of the contest. They also must indicate the frequency of
every QSO made with a minimum resolution of 1 kHz.
Our e-mail for logs is logs[at]rdxc.org. The robot will check your log and you
will receive confirmation e-mail. You can also check log's receiption at:

At our WEB page (www.rdxc.org/) you can find news, rules, trophies list, tips &

Triathlon DX Contest announcement
It all started in August of 2011. That was about when it occurred to Mike,
SV5BYR that a big Greek Contest was missing from international Ham Radio Contest
Calendar. By the end of September this idea became mature and so the "Triathlon"
was born! A triathlon is a multi-sport event involving the completion of three
continuous and sequential endurance events. And as you have already guessed, it
is a Greek word. We had to change a bit the name to Triathlon DX Contest to
match our activity.
Actually, trying here to simulate the original Triathlon athletic event, we
involved three major ham radio modes, SSB, CW and RTTY. It will be a 24 hour
non-stop event divided in three sections, each one devoted to a different mode.
There are some tentative rules of the contest that you can take a look. It will
take place on Saturday, the 1st full weekend of February, debuting on
02-02-2013.
After all, what makes this particular contest unique is the special gift for the
winner! (take a look to the prize page)
In this point we have to mention all the Greek amateurs who are working to make
this event alive: SV1DPI, SV1NK, SV2AGW, SV2DCD, SV5BYR, SV7JAR, SV8CS, SV8RX,
SV9GPV, SV9DJO. There is still a lot of work to be done and more details to be
