PM33GM) from 19-26th August 2011. This special callsign will be used during the 20th Asian Conference on Intellectual Disabilities from the Ramada Plaza Jeju Hotel. 19/08/2011: A large group of operators from the Telford and District Amateur Society will be active as GP3ZME/p from the isle of Guernsey (IOTA EU-114, WLOTA 0013, Grid Loc. IN89) on 19-24 August. 19/08/2011: Aki, JA1NLX, is planning to operate as JA1NLX/VK4 from Lizard Island (IOTA OC-187) on 19-23 August, 2011. Lizard Island is located about 240Km north of Cairns, Queensland. He plans to be QRV for three or four days in August on HF CW and SSB. Exact details are not fixed yet. [dx-world.net]
19/08/2011: Taka, JA8COE, is currently active the island of Yagishiri (IOTA AS-147, WLOTA 2512), Hokkaido Prefecture, Rumoi Subprefecture, Tomamae District, as JA8COE/8 until 20 August 2011. QSL via home call (QRZ.com). The island (Yagishiri To) is most notable for the beauty of its nature. Much of the islands surface is covered with untouched forests, especially of Taxus cuspidata, the Japanese Yew. 20/08/2011: The Association of Radioamadores of the Village of Moscavide (ARVM) will be activate as CS2HNI from the premises of the lighthouse (ILLW PT-0012, DFP FES-12, ARLHS POR-021 at Forte do Cavalo - Sesimbra (DCFP F-038, DMHP ST-028, WCA CT-00214) during the International Lighthouse-Lightship Weekend (20-21 August). 20/08/2011: A few hams from the Clubstation VFDB e. V. Ortsverband Moers - Kreis Wesel Z63, Duisburg, Germany, will test several monoband verticals (80m-10m) as DL0M using large kites flying up to 100m high. 20/08/2011: From 20 until 22 August, Geoff MM5AHO and crew (ILLW UK0122) will operate maritime mobile from a 10m yacht on Scotland's west coast visiting inaccessible lighthouses. This year prime target destinations are Skerryvore (BARLS A4096, ARLHS SCO-060, TWLHD WLH GM-021, WLOTA 1453, WAB NL82), which is 12 miles off Tiree (EU-008, IOSA NH04, SCOTIA DI10) in the Atlantic, and Dubh Artach [pronounced "doob arr-tack"] (BARLS A4098, ARLHS SCO-060, TWLHD WLH GM-021, WLOTA 1453, WAB NM10) 15 miles off the isle of Colonsay (EU-008, IOSA NH19, SCOTIA DI05). Both are rock mounted Stevenson built lights and both are subject to heavy weather. Sixty foot waves have been measured at Dubh Artach, so both operations are strictly weather permitting. In the event of poor weather, a series of lesser, but never-before-activated lighthouses will be visited. Equipment on board comprises an FT-857, running 100W into an antenna formed by the insulated backstay of the yacht's mast, plus two verticals. It is hoped to land on each rock, but radio operations are unsafe ashore so they will be conducted from the boat, anchored as close as is safe. QSL via MM5AHO. [G4IAR]

21/08/2011: Hans, ON6ZK, will be active as TA4/homecall from Lara, Turkey, between 21st and 30th August 2011. This will be a QRP operation, using a K1 at 5 Watts, to a quarter wave vertical. His main frequency and mode will be 14.060 MHz CW. QSL via UBA bureau to ON6ZK. [UBA HF News]
22/08/2011: Lance, W7GJ, will activate a 6m EME DXpedition, using the callsign 5W0GJ, from the northeast corner of Savai'i Island (IOTA OC-097, WLOTA 4026, WW Loc. AH36un), Samoa, during the final week of August, 2011. The 6m equipment is essentially be the same as that used at E51SIX in spring of 2009 and 3D2LR in the fall of 2010. The transceiver will be his K3 with low noise PR6 receive preamplifier. The antenna again is his 6M8GJ yagi fed with LMR600 low loss cable and used with his homebrew manual elevation mount. Lance also plans to use his 6M-1000 amplifier. For EME, he plans to operate on 50.190 and transmit in the first sequence JT65A mode. If there are changes from this, he will try to get the word out. 25/08/2011: Five operators from Oahu will travel to the Kalaupapa, Molokai peninsula, island of Molokai (IOTA OC-019, USi HI015S, WLOTA 1045) and Kalawao County, the site of Kalaupapa National Historical Park (WFF KFF-043) where Hawaii residents and others who were afflicted with leprosy (today called Hansen's disease) were exiled. The team will be there from 25-29 August 2011, operating up to 2 stations on 40-10 metre SSB and CW in the Hawaii QSO Party (27-28 August). Kip rejoined NCDXF as a director approximately two years ago and replaces Tom McShane, NW6P, who resigned for health reasons.
