29/06/2012: Gordon, G3USR and Graham, M0AEP (UKSMG #1374) will be active from
the island of Montserrat (NA-103, WLOTA 1475, WW Loc. FK86VR) as VP2MSR and
VP2MDD, respectively, between 29 June and 9 July, 2012. They will be operating
from the QTH of Graham, VP2MDD, overlooking the Caribbean Sea on the West coast
of Montserrat. Gordon, VP2MSR, will be QRV on 6m with attention to any EU
openings. They will also be active on 20-10 metre SSB only. QSL VP2MSR via

30th June 2012 from the Bislicher Insel Nature Reserve (WFF DLFF-140). Plans are

30/06/2012: Manfred, DF6EX, will be active on the 30th of June 2012 from Burg
Falkenberg (WCA DL-02335, COTA-DL BOB-001) located in the Nature Reserve
Waldnaabtal (WFF DLFF-143). He plans to work as DP7COTA from 0530 UTC on 40 and
20 metres and possible on 30 and 17 metres. QSL via DL7RAG, Bureau preferred.

30/06/2012: Members of the Grupo DX Teide will once again activate La Rambleta
(Teide Volcano), the highest point in Spain, between 30 June and 2 July, 2012.
Last operation was in 2007 using the callsign AN8TID. To commemorate their 5th
anniversary of that operation, and the Teide National Park (WFF EAFF-075) being
added to the UNESCO World Heritage List, the team will be active as EH8TID this
time. Operations will take place from the same location as last time: the La
Rambleta del Teide, 3555m ASL, and less than 163m from the top of the mountain,
Isla de Tenerife (DIE S-012, WLOTA 1276, DME 38026, Grid Loc. IL18), Canary
Islands (AF-004). The area is highly protected, and therefore; they are only
authorized to use vertical and wire antennas and only 100 watts. Operators
mentioned are Jose Antonio EA8ARG, Luis EA8AY, Angel EA8BFH, Miguel Angel
EA8BRW, and Francisco EA8CW. Activity will be on 80-6 metre CW, SSB, RTTY and

30/06/2012: Wolfgang, DM2AUJ, will activate the Lofoten islands (EU-076) as
LA/homecall between 30 June and 10 July, 2012. Look for him on, or near, the

30/06/2012: The TC Special Wireless Activity Team and the Giresun Radio
Amateurs and Nature Sports Club will be active as TC6BLH from Boztepe
Lighthouse, Sinop (built in 1863), between 30th June and 1st July, 2012. This
will be the first activation of this lighthouse. QSL via TA1HZ, direct or

02/07/2012: Andy, AB7FS (SKCC #7723), plans to be active holiday-style as

06/07/2012: A large group of ORARI DXpedition & Contest Team members will be
active as YE0M from Pulau Kaliage Besar (OC-177, WW Loc. OI34GI), located within
the Kepulauan Seribu [English: Thousand Islands] Marine National Park (WFF
YBFF-025), Jakarta Province, Indonesia, from 6-9th July, 2012. Operators include
YB0AA, YB0AZ, YB0HD, YB0JS, YE0YE, YB0AKM, YB0BUI, YB0ECT, YB0KVN, YC0KVM,

LOOKING AHEAD -
07/07/2012: Some members of Club Station Hohenasperg (DK0ASP, DOK P61) will be
active on 7-8th July 2012 from the Nature Reserve Rotwildpark Stuttgart (WFF
DLFF-146). This will be the first activation of this nature reserve. They will
be QRV with the callsign DL2A on 20m, 30m and 40m with dipoles (20m, 30m) and a
vertical for 40m. Plans are to work with two stations simultaneously. All QSOs
will be confirmed with a colored QSL via the Bureau. [DK1AX]
07/07/2012: Wayne, N6NB and Carrie, W6TAI will be active from the island of
Rarotonga (OC-013), South Cook Islands between 7th and 21st July 2012 as E51YNB

08/07/2012: Dave, WJ2O, will be touring Ireland (EU-115, WLOTA 2484) and

Ireland on 16-18 July and back in Dublin, Ireland on the 19th July. During the

14/07/2012: Between 14th and 22nd July 2012 special callsign UE95K will be

Puerto Rico Olympic Committee to celebrate the Flag Bearing of the Puerto Rico

01/07/2012: To commemorate Armed Forces Day with the local Veterans
Association. A large event will be held in Alexandra Park, Hastings, East

associations. This will be held on Sunday 1st July using the callsign GB0AFD
(Armed Forces Day). We hope that many Ex Servicemen Operators from RNARS, RAFARS
and Royal Signals Association will give us a call and help build up interest for
the general public attending the event. Our intended operating bands will be SSB
or CW or PSK31 on 80/40/20m/30m. Depending on conditions other bands may be
tried. We will have a Linear 300/400W using wire dipoles, we will also monitor

month of July 2012 to celebrate the 54th anniversary of SOP (Sea of Peace),
Baltic Sea. Every year in July the radio amateurs of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
district accomplish special activities supporting the application of the SOP.
The SOP is awarded for contacts with different countries/areas bordering the

And an activation by an International team looks to celebrate the uniqueness of

FRENCH SPECIAL EVENT
This year 2012 is the 70th anniversary of the FRENCH ARMY SIGNAL CORPS.
Starting July 12th until July 15th, in Paris, among the festivities of the
French 14 Juillet, will be held a special ham event from a very rare location.
From the 3rd floor of the Tour Eiffel (about 300 m over ground), some Hams,
all Servicemen, will be active, 24h a day.
The crew consists namely of: Philippe/F5SKW, Dimitri/F5SWB, Freddy/F5IRO,
David/F8CRS and Yves-Michel/ F5PRU. Some of them were operators in the past at
TO4E or FT5GA.
The callsign claimed is TM70TRS, but it could be also TM70TE.
The activity is scheduled on CW, SSB & RTTY; HF & VHF bands (WW Loc JN18DU).
A special QSL card to confirm your QSO’s will be available from the F6KHX ARC
or from Didier/F5OGL, both either direct or via the French bureau.
