SILENT KEY: A big DXer is forever gone. After a serious illness our friend
Emil,DJ4PI, put away the microphone on Feb 25 at the age of 78. He was
a well known DXer and very active especially on the lowbands until the
very end. Emil was a member of numerous clubs such as the ARRL, SDXG,
GDXF, BCC and the DIG. In addition to many top diplomas as 5BDXCC,
5BWAZ and WAE-1 his call is listed on the DXCC Honor Roll at #1. Many
HAMs will miss his "Papa Italy" in the pile-ups. Emil was licensed in
1958, very active in his local club, always helpful and technically up
to date. Amateur radio was part of his life and Ham-Spirit his passion.
We will keep our friend Emil always in our memory. (Michael, DF3IS)
