Crete (IOTA EU-015, GIOTA KRS-005, MIA MGC-005, WLOTA 1400), using the callsign
SV9/ON6DSL/p, from 2-9 September 2011. QRV on 40, 20, 17 and 15 metres, running
QRP power, with FT817 into an Inverted-V antenna. Luc will also activate some

03/09/2011: Branko, 9A7YY, will be 9A7YY/p from several Croatian islands on 3rd
and 4th September 2011. On 3 September he will activate Ravnik Island (IOTA

IC-801, IOCA CI-793, MIA MC-709). On 4 September he plans to activate Sanak rock

September 2011 as F8FSC/p, while Michel, F8GGZ, will be busy with the log book.
The mill is located in the commune of St. Amour (CP 39160), canton [county] of
St. Amour (DDCF 39-25), Departement Jura/39 and Province Franche-Comte (DPF 10).

04/09/2011: Fred, K9VV / NP2X, will be active as PJ6/NP2X from the island of
Saba (IOTA NA-145, WFF PAFF-027, WLOTA 2043) from 4-9 September 2011. Holiday
style activity on the HF bands using mostly CW, with a little SSB, using 100
watts and wire antennas. No digital modes or 6m operation. When the bands are

06/09/2011: Rick, K6VVA, will be active as K6VVA/KL7 from Revillagigedo Island
(IOTA NA-041, USi AK141S), 1st South Eastern County, Alaska, from 6-8 September
2011 until around 0600 UTC on the 8th. Plans are to operate on 30, 20 and 17
metre CW, with a focus on Europe and Asia, where this IOTA is particularly
needed. On the 8th of September he will move to the other side of the island and
be QRV for North America, South America and Africa. There is also the
possibility that Rick will operate as KL8C during the North American CW Sprint

09/09/2011: Gert, ZS6AYU, will once again be active from Jwaneng, Botswana, as

possible. He will use a Yeasu FT840 (with a FT857 for backup) and a 32 ft.

10/09/2011: The Pentagon Amateur Radio Club, K4AF, will be on the air 7 AM-9 PM
Saturday, September 10 (1100-0100 UTC, Saturday, September 10 through Sunday,
September 11). Active operating frequencies will be posted during event on the
K4AF website. This Special Event is to honor all those lost on September 11,
2001, with special remembrance of the 184 people who lost their lives at the

01/09/2011: Look for special event station GB4BOB to be active from 1st to 20th
September 2011 to commemorate the Battle of Britain. After running this station
as a one-off for the 70th anniversary, the Pontefract & District Amateur Radio
Society have now decided to keep it as an annual event to remember those who

September MS Predictions MMMonVHF -
Even if no big meteor showers hit the Earth in September, this month deserves
lot of interest by MS enthusiasts. Sporadic Meteors flux is at its annual
maximum in this period, thus providing relatively good rates especially during
morning hours. Some minor to medium showers (Alpha-Aurigids, September
Epsilon-Perseids, Sextantids and others) will also add significant meteor rates.

A team of four highly experienced IOTA (Islands On The Air) amateur radio
activators are planning to operate from the extremely rare and dangerous Isle of
Rockall. Accompanied by an experienced climber, they aim to land and stay for 48
hours in late May 2012, in what will be considered one of the most ambitious
island activations the ham radio world has seen.
The four radio operators George Moreno EA2TA, Christian Cabre EA3NT, Simon
Gadaleta IZ7ATN and Col McGowan MM0NDX are all part of the larger and highly
successful MS0INT IOTA adventure group, which has had previous transmitting
success from St. Kilda, the Monach Isles and the Flannan Isles. Completing the
team is Nick Hancock, a climber with considerable expedition experience in
remote and inhospitable places, increasing the chances of activating the island.
