09/12/2011: Antoine, 3D2AG, will be in Rotuma (OC-060, Grid Loc. RH87) for
Christmas with his family and will try a small "green" radio activity as 3D2AG/p
between 9 December 2011 and 9 January 2012. A small ecological barefoot activity
on all bands (80m to 6m) except 160m, sponsored by the French company TOTAL
within the framework of the sustainable development of the insular communities
of the Pacific (supply of the batteries, the 3 solar panels of 50 Watts and
QSLs). The station used will be 100W all modes (SSB/CW) with ICOM 706, FT-757GX
and Kenwood TS-440S + an antenna Spiderbeam 5 bands and an Yagi aerial 5
elements for the 6m and doublets for the 40/60/80 metres. This station will be
fed only by batteries and solar panels. A chart QSL special printed on paper
recycled to confirm the contacts carried out. QSL via home call, direct only

09/12/2011: Radio Club Ushuaia, has set up an expedition to the Kosovo ranch,
on the coast of Lake Fagnano, Grande Island of Tierra del Fuego (IOTA SA-008,
WAP ARG-023, WLOTA 1906, Grid Loc. FD65GJ), and will be QRV until 1500 UTC
December 11th, 2011, using the callsign LT5X. Activity on all bands (1.8), 3.5
to 28 MHz and 50 MHz in SSB, CW, PSK and RTTY. Two vertical antennas on aluminum
telescopic mast, a large multiband Zepp, a yagi for 6m and a vertical for 2m
will be used. The contacts made are valid for DIPLOMA ISLA GRANDE DE TIERRA DEL
FUEGO. QSL via WD9EWK. Others may choose to QSL direct to: Radio Club Ushuaia,
Municipal Sports, Jorge passage Vrsalovic S / N, 9410 Ushuaia Tierra del Fuego.

09/12/2011: Dan, K6IF, will be active as V25R from Gunthorpes, Saint George
Parish, island of Antigua (IOTA NA-100, WLOTA 1118, WW Loc. FK97BC) from 9-11
December, 2011. Plans are to operate in the ARRL 10 meter contest, SSB only,
plus minor operations on other bands. QSL via K6IF. [NG3K]
09/12/2011: The DR1A team will be active as a Multi-Single entry from Weeze -
Niederrhein, Germany, in the ARRL 10-Meter Contest (10-11 December). A QSL will

10/12/2011: Jean-Claude F1AWM/p and Lionel F5NEP/p will be active on 10
December 2011 from the Mill of Baudouin (DMF 27-030), located in the commune of

10/12/2011: Look for Alain, F6CUG/p, to be active 10th December 2011 from the
Castle of d'Eguilles (DFCF 13-063), located in the commune of Eguilles (CP
13510), canton Aix en Provence Sud Ouest (DDCF 13-02), Department Bouches du
Rhone/13 and Region Provence-Alpes-Cote-d'Azur (DPF 20). Activity will be on the

10/12/2011: Michel, F8GGZ/p in company with Daniel, F4GAF/p will be active on
10 December 2011 from the Mill Gauthier (DMF 39-070), commune of Montagna le
Reconduit (CP 39160), canton [county] of St. Amour (DDCF 39-25), Department
Jura/39 and Province Franche-Comte (DPF 10). Activity will be on the lower HF

12/12/2011: Peter, DC0KK, will again be active from Sri Lanka (AS-003, WLOTA
0762), this time between 12 December 2011 and 10 March 2012 as 4S7KKG. His
dipoles will be mounted on palm trees. Peter prefers CW and digital modes like

15/12/2011: Take, JG8NQJ will be active again as JG8NQJ/JD1 from Minami
Torishima (OC-073) from mid-December until mid-March 2012. QSL via bureau or

16/12/2011: E4/HB9IQB, Palestine DXpedition December 2011 - License has been
granted by the Ministry of Telecommunications & Technology, Ramallah, for
160-10m, CW, SSB, DATA, signed by the Deputy Minister. Look for Peri, HB9IQB, to
be active as E44PM from the 16th of December 2011, for 7 days. He will probably
concentrate on CW and the WARC bands, depending on W6/7 and JA openings. Low
band not planned. The rig is an Elecraft K2/100 ATU powered by an Alinco PS
DM-330; Scheunemann paddle, Heil Pro Set 4, Microham periphery, Notebook. Peri
will be using DX Wire masts and wires for vertical dipoles and verticals. QSL

16/12/2011: Norman, 5B4AIF, will be active as V31NB from the V31MD shack in

SPECIAL EVENTS -
09/12/2011: Special callsign DP30OVW will be active on all bands and modes
during the entire month of December 2011. Activity is to celebrate the 30th
anniversary of the Radio Club DARC OV Worpswede (DOK I45 and Sonder-DOK 30I45),
Worpswede, Germany. Worpswede is known worldwide as an artist colony, founded in
1890 by Jürgen-Christian Findorff. Here lived and worked e.g. the painters Fritz
Mackensen, Heinrich Vogeler (in Barkenhoff, see photo), Paula Modersohn-Becker
and Otto Modersohn. Also the poet Rainer Maria Rilke lived there temporarily.

09/12/2011: Special event station XR45EI is currently active from Iquique,
Chile, until 25 December 2011 to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the Star of
Iquique newspaper (Estrella de Inquique). Activity is planned for all bands and

10/12/2011: Special station 8J6HAM will be activated between 10 December 2011
and 5 March 2012 for the 11th Nishinihon (or West Japan) Ham Fair. QSL via the

- MS - Contest 2011 - LY4U MEMORIAL CONTEST -
The Bavarian Contest Club (BCC) invites all active meteor scatter
enthusiasts to join the MS contest hold during the Geminids shower
2010. The aim of the contest is to generate more activity on the
random frequency and make MS random operation more popular. It will
also provide interesting information about MS propagation at various
times of the shower. And it will give the little pistols a chance
to work the big guns, who are usually just out for square hunting.
