SPECIAL EVENTS -

12/01/2011:  Lithuanian radio amateurs are currently using the following
LY13 special event callsigns until 2200z, 27th January 2011. Activity is to
mark the 20th anniversary of the January 13th event, where the Soviet army
in 1991 attempted to occupy the independent Lithuania - all communications
were blocked and only radio amateurs were the first who help to spread out
the information about invasion around the world. There will be no awards
issued for this event. This operation is "in memory". They hope some
amateurs around the world can still remember this night. Further information

1996 through 2005. He was an ARRL Life Member and was the former
president of the Montachusett Amateur Radio Association and was
still active before his death. Voedisch was the owner and operator
of Imperial Television and Radio Service in Leominster since 1954.

Voedisch served as a US Army corporal in the Korean Conflict and its
immediate aftermath, serving from 1952-1954. He received the Korean

TT8ET - Chad
Elke, TT8ET, is currently active from N’Djamena, Chad. Using a small
vertical on 20m SSB, Elke reports she has no propagation at all from the
central African continent to eastern Europe and beyond. Presently, local QRM
from landlines & powerlines interrupts her transmissions, but she is hopeful
of setting up a new antenna system and using battery power to overcome this.
QSL: Elke Takatsch, B.123, N'Djamena, Chad.

Further news from Chad indicates a team will be putting on a DXpedition
from there by the end of this year. [dx-world.net
