20/05/2011: Kev, M0TNX, will once again activate Hilbre Island (IOTA EU-120, WLOTA 2038), in The Dee Estuary, between the 20th and 22nd May 2011, using the callsign GB2HI. Kev will be promoting the diversity of wildlife, and the outstanding natural beauty of The Wirral Penninsula to amateurs worldwide. 20/05/2011: The Radio Club de los Andes LU8YE reports that during the days 20, 21 and 22 May 2011 will perform a special operation as LU8YE/Y from the shores of Meliquina Lake, located at 45 KM from the city of San Martin de los Andes, from the hotel Amancio (www.amanciohotel.com.ar/). They will work on HF from 80 to 10 metres, using SSB and CW. The contact is valid for the Neuquén Club Radio Program "Lakes and ponds of Neuquén". For national contacts QSL via LU8YE. 20/05/2011: Andrew, M6ADB/p, will be activating Odiham Castle (CASHOTA Ref: G268, WAB No:SU75) on 20th May 2011. QRV on 40/20/17m SSB only, between 0600-0830 UTC and again from approx 1100-1300 UTC. Odiham Castle (also known locally as King John's Castle) is a ruined castle situated near Odiham in Hampshire, United Kingdom. It is one of only three fortresses built by King John during his reign. 21/05/2011: Members of the Florida Contest Group (FCG), namely George K5KG (J75KG), Dan K1TO (J79FCG), Jim WI9WI (J79WI) and Chris NX4N (J71W) will be active from the Sea Cliff Cottages, Calibishie, island of Dominica (IOTA NA-101, WW Loc. FK95HN) from 21-31 May 2011. QRV on 80-6 metres. The FCG team will be in the CQWW WPX CW Contest (28-29 May) as J7A. Outside of the contest, operators will use the J79FCG (suffix - Florida Contest Group) callsign primarily (and perhaps exclusively), but most operators do have their own callsign. 22/05/2011: Eddie, ES2TT/p, will be active on the 22nd of May 2011 from the Monastery of Padise [aka Padise Abbey] (WCA ES-00057). Plans are to work on 40, 20 and 15 metre SSB only from 0800 till 1200 UTC. Padise Abbey was a former Cistercian monastery in Padise in Harju County, Estonia, settled in 1310 by the dispossessed monks of Dünamünde Abbey in Latvia. It was converted into a fortress after its dissolution in 1559 and later used as a country house until 1766. The ruins now house a museum. QSL via home call, bureau or direct. [RN1CW]

24/05/2011: Bert, DL2RNS, and Ric, DL2VFR, will be leaving on the 24th of May and heading north. On their way they expect to activate IOTA EU-087 (Alnön or Hemsön island) for a short time signing SD7V/3 and SM3/DL2RNS - most likely on the 26th of May. Their main objective is the activation of Mageroya Island (IOTA EU-044, WLOTA 0160) from 28-31 May as LA/DL2RNS and LA/DL2VFR mostly in CW using high power. On the way back they plan to activate the Pallas-Yllästtunturin National Park (WFF OHFF-018) possibly for the first time for a couple of hours using OH9/DL2RNS and OH9/DL2VFR. This could be on the 31st of May. On June 1st they stop on the island of Seskarö (IOTA EU-139) for one day operating under SM2/DL2RNS and SD7V/2 with high power again. 24/05/2011: Darrell, AB2E, will once again be active as V26E from the island of Antigua (IOTA NA-100, WLOTA 1118) tentatively on 24-31 May 2011, including a Single-Op entry in the CQWW WPX CW Contest (28-29 May). 26/05/2011: Laci, HA0HW, will once again be active as J48HW and SV8/HA0HW from Thassos Island (IOTA EU-174, GIOTA NAS-037, MIA MG-124, WLOTA 4186, WW Loc. KN20HS) between 26th May and 5th June 2011. He will take part in the CQ WPX CW contest as J48HW on SO HP AB TB-WIRES. After the contest Laci will be QRV on all HF band +6 m with monoband fishing pole verticals and a 2x17m doublet feeding with ladder line. 28/05/2011: VUCC grid hunters who need Canadian grid EO40 may want to listen for WB8BZK/VE3 who will activate EO40ud from Seseganaga Lake in Ontario between 18th May and 3rd June 2011. 50 MHz SSB & CW - 50.135 MHz (starting on the calling freq, 50.125 MHz and moving up to 50.135 during an opening). 10/06/2011: Doug, KF4VTT, will be visiting Bermuda (IOTA NA-005) from 10-17th June 2011 and staying at the QTH of VP9GE (WW Loc. FM72PI), using the callsign KF4VTT/VP9. Although this is not a true DXpedition, Doug will utilize 160M-6M on SSB, CW, RTTY and possibly PSK31 when time permits. His XYL and son will be accompanying him, so Doug will need to be fair about the amount of time spent on the air. As a personal goal, he hopes to finish DXCC and VUCC from VP9. 30/06/2011: The 'Grid Bandits' plan to activate Grid Square EL58 on 6 metres, using the callsign K5N, from Burwood Island (USi LA105), Plaquemines County, Louisiana, between 30th June and 4th July 2011. 06/07/2011: GB0RAF RAF Memorial Day Deerbolt Bernard Castle, Teesdale, County Durham, North East England region (WW Loc. IO94AN). Operation will be on 80m SSB and on AM 3.625 MHz, the AM transmission will be from a C12 set. RAFARS members will be assisted by members of the Bishop Auckland Radio Amateurs Club. Staff from RAF Leeming will also be in support. A fly past by a aircraft from the B of B Memorial Flight has been confirmed. 07/07/2011: A group of members from the Club DARC in Germany (section P08-OV Nurtingen) will be staying on the Isle of Man (IOTA EU-116, WLOTA 0449) from 7 July till 15 July 2011 in the Eary Cushlin House, located on the south west cost of the island (WW Loc. IO74PD). Operators include Pit DL1SPH, Gunter DK1SG, Bernd DH1SBB, Gertraud DC5SAN, Guenther DG1SBU, Guenther DG7SF and Erwin DL6SBN. QRV from 80m to 6m using PSK, RTTY and SSB, using MD/homecalls.
