West Malaysia, as 9M2/RA9LR between 24th June and 10 July 2011. QRV on SSB, CW

24/06/2011: Martin G3ZAY, Dominic M0BLF and Tom M0TOC will be active as
EJ/homecalls from the Aran Islands (IOTA EU-006) on 24-26 June 2011, and from
Inishbofin Island (IOTA EU-121, WLOTA 1870) on 27-28 June. They will operate SSB
and CW on the HF bands, but they will also check 6 metres. QSL to the operator's

24/06/2011: Artur M0PLK/p, Craig M6CAC/p, Jack M/SP7DPJ and Blazej (SWL) will
be active on the 24-26th June 2011 from the Castle of Piel (WCA G-00151, CASHOTA
G151, WAB SD26, WW Loc IO64JB), located on Piel Island (www.pielisland.co.uk/),
Cumbria. They plan to work on 80 - 10 and 2 metres using CW/SSB and digital

24/06/2011: Look for AH0CE (JE3NRO), KH0/KC2ZSG (JA3AQW), KH0K (JE4SMQ), KH0UY

Saipan (IOTA OC-086, USi NI002S, WLOTA 1333) on 24-26 June 2011. They will

24/06/2011: Taka JA0BJR, Toshi JP1IOF and Toshi JE1SYN plan to be active from
Koror Island, Republic of Palau (IOTA OC-009, WW Loc. PJ77FI), as T88ZA, T80T
and T8YN respectively on 24-27th June 2011. Look for them to run two stations on
80-6 metre SSB, CW, FM, RTTY and PSK31 (5 element yagi on 6m). QSL via home

25/06/2011: Members of DX Club "Safari" will be active on the 25th and 26th of
June 2011 and participate in WCW-2011 from the Mardakan Round Tower (WCA
4K-00004), Mardakan settlement of Baku, Azerbaijan. Thay plan to work as 4J0SFR

25/06/2011: Members of the Amateur Radio Club Sarawak, namely Allan 9M8MA, Syed
9M8SYA, Liew 9W8CH, Aldrin 9W8WAT, Allpa 9W8ALF and Sudirman 9W8GPS will be
active as 9M8RC from Talang Talang Besar (IOTA OC-165, WLOTA 3372, WFF 9MFF-022
[Talang-Satang National Park]) on the 25th and 26th of June 2011. Dates given

25/06/2011: Operators Nick G0HIK, Norman G7MRL, Dave G3VUS and Ivan G3IZD will
be active from the Isle of Islay (IOTA EU-008, IOSA NH22, SCOTIA CS25, WLOTA
1826) between 25th June and 1st July 2011, using the callsigns GM0HIK and
GM3IZD. GM0HIK, will be active on 50/70/144 and 432 bands, skeds via KST. GM3IZD

25/06/2011: Howard, WB4WXE (SMIRK #1265), is planning a return to St. Lucia
(IOTA NA-108, WLOTA 1336) again between 25th June and 15th July 2011. Callsign
this year will be J68HS. This is a 50 Mhz expedition. However, when 6 metres is
quiet, attention will be given to 12m, 17m, 40m, and 160m. Operation site will
be at 2,000 foot elevation over looking Soufriere (WW Loc. FK93LU). Antennas
include a 6 element Yagi for 6m, 2 element Yagi for 17m, and full size 1/2 wave
vertical for 160m, 40m and 12. Equipment will be an Icom IC-706 with Tokyo
Hy-Power HL-550fx 550 watt 1.8-50 mhz amplifier. An additional 200 watt 50 mhz
amplifier will be travelling to J69MV for year round resident activity on 6m.
Tot has the 6m Yagi up now so expect to hear both callsigns this summer. QSL via

25/06/2011: Andrew, M6ADB, will be active on the 25th and 26th of June 2011 and
participate in WCW-2011 from Farnborough Hill, Surrey, (WCA G-00309, CASHOTA

Farnborough Hill was the home-in-exile of Empress Eugenie, wife of Napoleon III,

25/06/2011: Karel, OK1TIR, will be active on the 25th and 26th of June 2011 and

located in Sumava National Park (WFF OKFF-004). He plans to work as homecall/p

25/06/2011: Ivo, ON7IVO, will be active on the 25th and 26th of June 2011 and
participate in WCW-2011 from the Castle Biscchoppenhof (WCA ON-00437, BCA

25/06/2011: Fred, DJ5RT, will visit the Peloponnisos Region group (IOTA EU-158)
between 25th June and 16th July 2011. Plans are to be QRV on 20 metres, using
QRP and vertical antenna. Activity will be mainly from Sapientza Island (GIOTA
INS-011, MIA MG-101, WLOTA 1471) and partly from the island of Schiza (GIOTA

25/06/2011: Oleg UR4UKV/p, UT4ULR/p and Yuri UT5UKA/p will be active on the
25th and 26th of June 2011 and participate in WCW-2011 from the Kievskiy
Fortified - North (WCA UR-00039, UCFA KO-004, URDA KO-13). They plan to work on

25/06/2011: Dave, VA3RJ, will activate Fort York (WCA reference VE-00228, WW
Loc. FN03HP), city of Toronto, Ontario, during the World Castles Weekend

25/06/2011: Bob, VE1REC, plans to activate Fort George, located on Citadel
Hill, Halifax, Nova Scotia (WCA reference VE-00071, WW Loc. FN84FP), for World

25/06/2011: The Providence Radio Association, W1OP/W1PRA will be active as W1OP
from Conanicut Island (IOTA NA-031, USi RI007S, WLOTA 1422, Newport County),
Rhode Island, during the ARRL Field Day (25-26 June 2011). Expect activity on

25/06/2011: John, WA4JA/p will attempt to qualify Spring Creek Island (USi
TN056, WW Loc. EM55XP), Tennessee River, Perry County, Tennessee, during the
morning of 25th July 2011. This will also be part of his Field Day activity.

26/06/2011: The Central Lancs ARC will be activating Hoghton Tower (CASHOTA
G305, WAB SD62, WW Loc. IO33RR) on Sunday, 26 June 2011 all day. They will use
the special callsign GB5HT on all HF bands, propagation permitting. This stately
home, located in Preston, Lancashire, has been the ancestral home of the De

26/06/2011: Paolo, IK2MLS, plans to be active from the island of Elba (IOTA

26/06/2011: Jan DJ8NK, Dieter DJ9ON and Hans DK9KX will be active as
PJ2/homecalls from the island of Curacao (IOTA SA-099, WLOTA 0942, Grid Loc.
FK52) between 26th of June and the 7th of July 2011. QRV mainly on 6 metres

27/06/2011: Roger, MW0IDX, plans to be active as homecall/p from Puffin Island
(IOTA EU-124, WFF EIFF-047), County Kerry, Ireland, on the 27th of June 2011. He
will be travelling to the island by kayak. This activity is weather dependent.

29/06/2011: A DL Team (Angelo DM1AC, Carsten DM1CG and Joachim DL9MS) will be
active holiday style from the southwestern end of the island of Sao Miquel (DIP
AZ-002, PIP AC-002, WLOTA 2016, WW Loc. HM77CT), Azores Archipelago (IOTA
EU-003) from 29th June to 5th July 2011. The callsign of the expedition CR2EME
has now been confirmed. Also look for the team to possibly use CU2/homecalls.
Activity will be on the HF bands, 6m ES and as well 2m EME/TEP. QSL via

30/06/2011: Operators BD4QH, BD4QK, BD4QR, BH4QBV, BH4QBZ, BH4QDT, BH4QGH and
BH4QGR will be active as BY4QA/5 from the island of Tantou Shan (IOTA AS-137)
between 30th June and 3rd July 2011. Plans are to be QRV on the HF bands with
SSB as the main mode, but some CW also. Rig: IC-7000 FT-450 Ant: Cushcraft R8

01/07/2011: Kevin, 2E0LSR and Julian, 2E0DJR will activate the Isle of Skye
(IOSA NH07, SCOTIA CN14, WLOTA 1626), Inner Hebrides (IOTA EU-008) as 2M0LSR/M

01/07/2011: Explorer Scouts on the Scottish Scout "New Horizons" Expedition
will carry out practical development work at the Makwawa National Scout Camp (WW
Loc. KH74QR), Makwawa, Malawi, where Malcolm, GM3TAL, will operate 7Q7MH during
July 2011. Although not a dxpedition as such, look for activity on the upper HF
bands (and possibly 50MHz), with SSB and CW. This will be a month long "field
day" under canvas - no towers or comfy resort style shacks and no Internet! QSL

01/07/2011: Michael, DL4ABO, will be active from Mallorca (IOTA EU-004, DIE
E-021, MIA MB-004, WLOTA 1902) and satellite islands as EA6/DL4ABO from 1-5th
July 2011. There is the possibility that he will activate WFF EAFF-055

01/07/2011: John, F4FUC, will be active as J28UC from Djibouti starting July
2011 and will stay there until the Summer of 2013. He will be using Kenwood TS

01/07/2011: Anders, SM5EFX, will be active as SF2X/p from the island of Ledskar
(IOTA EU-135, WLOTA 0291) between 1st of July and 1st of August 2011. Plans are
to focus on the RSGB IOTA contest (30-31 July). Outside the contest he will be

activate various islands in the Outer Hebrides group (IOTA EU-010) from 2-7th
July 2011 using the callsign 2M0LSR/p. Dates and activations have now been

SCOTIA HI05) and South Uist (IOTA EU-010, IOSA OH03, SCOTIA HI06, WLOTA 2972);
4th June from Benbecula (IOTA EU-010, IOSA OH04, SCOTIA HI08) and Grimsay (IOTA

02/07/2011: Special event station GB2NWA will be active on the 2nd and 3rd of
July 2011 from the North Weald Airfield, North Weald, Essex, England (IOTA
EU-005, WLOTA 1841, WW Loc. JO01BR, WAB: TL40 Essex, RAFARS #4455) for the
Air-Britain Fly-In. This event is staged by Loughton & Epping Forest ARS (G4ONP)
and good for the 'Epping Forest' award. QSL direct to G0TOC, or via the RSGB or

02/07/2011: Steve, KC8QVO, will once again be signing VE3/KC8QVO, on 6 metres
only (WW Loc. EN39AD) from Lake of the Woods in Ontario, Canada, on 2-10 July
2011. Frequencies to look for - SSB - 50.125 to 50.150 MHz, unless the band is
crowded I may move up closer to 50.200 MHz; CW - 50.080 to 50.100 MHz. QSL via

06/07/2011: Alex, VE2XAA, will be active as TF/VE2XAA from the QTH of Thor,
TF4M, Otradalur in Arnarfjörður, Iceland (IOTA EU-021, WLOTA 2975, WW Loc.
HP85FP), from 6-11 July 2011. QRV on 160-6m CW, SSB and RTTY, including an entry
in the IARU HF Championships (9-10 July) using the callsign TF4X. QSL TF/VE2XAA

07/07/2011: Victor, VA2WDQ, will be active as FP/VA2WA from 7-11 July 2011 from
the island of Miquelon (IOTA NA-032, DIFO FP-002, WLOTA 1417, WW Loc. GN17TC).
He will be staying at the the ham-friendly Motel Miquelon. The main goal is
participating in the IARU HF Championship (SOAB CW LP) on July 9-10, 2011.
Victor will be active mostly on CW and a bit on SSB on WARC bands before and
after the contest. Also there are plans to try 160m during night time and 6m
during a day if there will be good conditions. The equipment will be Kenwood
TS-590S and probably one small transistors PA. Antennas will be verticals. QSL

29/07/2011: Hans Jørgen ("Joe"), OZ7BQ, will be homecall/p on the HF bands from
Drejø Island (IOTA EU-172, DIA FY-011) between 29 July and 5 August 2011,

30/07/2011: GB2HR is a UK Special Event station celebrating the 70th
Anniversary of the opening of RAF Hurn. This happened on the 1st of August 1941.
GB2HR is operated by G8NSV (a RAFARS Member), and is a RAFARS Airfield On The
Air Station. GB2HR will operate between 30th July and 2nd August 2011, from
Bournemouth Aviation Museum, on 80-10, 6 and 2 metres. The GB2HR station is
located in an old RAF "runway caravan" (mobile control tower) which was recently
used by the Airport as an Emergency facility before becoming surplus to
requirements, and now having been donated to the Bournemouth Aviation Museum The
station location in the runway caravan has a view over much of the airfield with
most of the runway being visible. Station equipment comprises a Yaesu FT-ONE,
Alinco DX70, LDG Antenna Tuners, Digicomms PC, KDK 2025, and converted Motorola

30/07/2011: Operators Alexandre PY5BH, Vagner PY5DC, Fleck PY5DJ, Fernando
PY5FO and Goncalves PY5IN will be active as PR5D from Ilha do Mel (IOTA SA-047,
DIB PR-01, WLOTA 1435) during the RSGB IOTA Contest (30-31 July 2011). Bands and

10/09/2011: Willy, ON4AVT, will be touring Morocco between 10 September and 15
October 2011. He will be QRV, generally mobile, as CN2AV/m (Atas 120 ant), and
from time to time portable (end fed vertical on 10m fibreglass mast). Note that
this is not a DXpedition. Recommended frequency: 14306 kHz +/- 5 QRM. APRS

15/11/2011: Eric, F6ICX, will once again be active as 5R8IC between 15th
November and 17th December, 2011, from Nosy Boraha [aka Sainte-Marie Island]

with no online log during activity. CW RTTY and PSK63 using 100w and various GP

17/11/2011: Scott, W4PA and others will be active as K8A from the island of
Tutuila (IOTA OC-045, USi AS007S, WLOTA 4385), American Samoa, on 17-28th
November 2011. Focus will be on CW and Digital modes, the low bands, and an
entry in the CQWW DX CW Contest (26-27 November). The entry in the contest will
be in either the SOAB, Multi-Single, or Multi-2 category, depending on the

20/11/2011: From 20th November to 3rd December 2011 Sigi, DL7DF, will be on
holiday with his XYL Sabine in Kenya. Sigi will operate on all bands from 160m
to 10m in CW, SBB, RTTY, PSK31 and SSTV as often as possible. The location is
Diani Beach at the coastline of Kenya near Mombasa. Equipment will consist of a
transceiver K2, a linear XV600, a Lowband Vertical, some dipole antennas as well

24/06/2011: Special event station GB4CVM will be active from 24th to 26th June
2011. It will be operated by Mike, G4SMB (FISTS # 14891), a member of the World
Association of Christian Radio Amateurs and Listeners. Operating frequencies and
times will run generally as per the net schedules shown on the WACRAL website
(www.wacral.org/). However, the station will be on the air at other times where

Station in support of the annual "Operation Home Guard" held in the village of

IOTA 50TH ANNIVERSARY MARATHON -
The year 2014 marks the 50th anniversary of the launch of the Islands On The
Air (IOTA) Programme by British SWL Geoff Watts, BRS-3129. As a build-up to our
celebrations on this occasion, the RSGB IOTA Manager and Committee announce an
exciting activity period in which all licensed amateurs world-wide are invited
to participate.
For a two-year period during 2012 and 2013, IOTA chasers are encouraged to
contact as many different IOTA groups as possible, and IOTA activators to play
their part by operating from as many groups as possible, with special emphasis
on the less-frequently activated ones. Certificates and awards will be
available to both 'Chasers' and 'Activators' to reflect attainment of graduated
bands of performance together with attractive prizes for top scorers.

RAC Bulletin 2011-015E - Manitoba Declares "Amateur Radio Week" as local "Hams"
prepare for a Public Demo of Emergency Communications 2011-06-21
Winnipeg, MB June 21st 2011 - The Province of Manitoba has declared June
20-24th as "Amateur Radio Week" in response to the support local Amateur Radio
Operators have supplied in the last year. The Proclamation, which is posted at
the website of the Winnipeg Amateur Radio Club (www.mts.net/~warc/), was signed
by the Minister responsible for the Emergency Measures Organization (EMO), Steve
Ashton.
This weekend, the public will have a chance to meet and talk with Winnipeg’s
ham radio operators and see for themselves what the Amateur Radio Service is
about. Showing the newest digital and satellite capabilities, voice
communications and even historical Morse code, hams from across the North
America will be holding public demonstrations of emergency communications
abilities. Several dignitaries including the Director of EMO and the Deputy
Mayor will also be visiting.
There are over 65,000 Amateur Radio licensees in Canada, and more than 2.5
million around the world. Through the Radio Amateurs of Canada (RAC) Amateur
Radio Emergency Services program, ham volunteers provide emergency
communications for thousands of provincial and local emergency response
agencies, all for free.
Credit is to go to the Public Information Officer for the Winnipeg Amateur
Radio Club Mr. Jim Sutton, ve4sig. The Winnipeg Amateur Radio Club is a RAC

RAC Bulletin 2011-016E - Mike Kelly, VE3FFK appointed to the National Field
Organization Secretariat 2011-06-21
I am very pleased to introduce the latest addition to the RAC National Field
Organization Secretariat. Mike Kelly VE3FFK joins us as EP Canada Advisor. With
a wealth of Emergency Preparedness knowledge and experiance, he will be a much
needed presence in the Ottawa area in dealing with both the Federal and
Provincial governments on matters relating to Wireless Radio Interoperability.
Mike has had a long standing relationship with the Canadian Emergency
Management College and is the "go to" guy to be registered for their training
programs. Mike is also a regular volunteer at RAC HQ in Ottawa.
