Venado Island (IOTA NA-116, WW Loc. EJ79LX), Puntarenas Province, Costa

11/03/2011:  Frosty, K5LBU (7P8CF), and Wayne, W5KDJ (7P8KDJ), will be
active from the Trading Post Lodge in Roma, Lesotho, on 11-20 March 2011.
QRV on 160-10 metres using CW, SSB, RTTY and PSK. They plan to have 2 full
time stations on the air for the entire period using a Tennadyne T6 at about
40 feet, a R7 vertical along with a Tennadyne TD-160 which is a folded
Dipole that is 126 feet overall in length. QSL 7P8CF via K5LBU, direct or

11/03/2011:  Yuri, VE3DZ, is once again active until 29th March 2011 from
the island of Barbados (IOTA NA-021, WLOTA 0999) as 8P9AA, including a
Single-Op/All-Band/High-Power entry in the CQWW WPX SSB Contest (26-27th
March) using the callsign 8P3A. Outside the contest look for Yuri to be QRV
on all HF bands and modes. QSL both calls via VE3DZ, direct or bureau.

11/03/2011:  Members of Radio club "Croatian Flora Fauna" (xyl Anica 9A7SSY,
Franjo 9A2MF, Daki 9A2WJ, and Emir 9A6AA) will activate for the first time
all protected areas located on the island of Pag (IOTA EU-170, ACIA IC-188,
CIA-32, IOCA CI-082, MIA MC-282, WLOTA 1796) between 11th and 13th March
2011. They will operate, for the first time, under new call sign, 9A1WFF.
Look for them on all bands, all modes. They will activate the special
botanical reserve "Lun" (WFF 9AFF-023), special ornithological reserve
"Kolanjsko blato" (9AFF-073), Special ornithological reserve "Veliko & Malo
blato" (9AFF-074) and special forest reserve "Dubrava-Hanzine" (9AFF-075).

11/03/2011:  Members of CW-Philippines Ed 4F1OZ, Gus 4F1EAA, Nani DU1COP and
Gudo 4F3XX will activate Polillo Island (IOTA OC-091, province of Quezon,
Philippines, on 11-13th March 2011, using the callsign DZ1P. Gil 4F2KWT and

11/03/2011:  Take, JI3DST will be active as JI3DST/JI6 from Kuchino-shima, a
volcanic island located in the Tokara Islands (IOTA AS-049, Kyushu Region,
Kagoshima District, Kagoshima Prefecture), part of the Ryukyu Islands, on
11-20th March 2011. He plans to operate SSB, CW, RTTY and PSK31 from two
different locations on the island. Indicatively, between 2300 and 0600 UTC
he will be QRV on 40-6 metres with an emphasis on 20, 17 and 15 metres;
between 0800 and 2200 UTC he will add 160 and 80 metres. QSL via home call,

11/03/2011:  Peter, G3PHO, will be active holiday style as VP2V/G3PHO from
the Beef Island (IOTA NA-023, WW Loc. FK78RK), British Virgin Islands, on
11-18 March 2011. Beef Island is connected to the island of Tortola by the
Queen Elizabeth Bridge. This is a lightweight expedition... 100W and simple
wire antennas, for his holiday and the Commonwealth Contest weekend (12-13
March). Operating hours outside the Contest will be limited. Peter will be
mainly be on CW 80-10m + 160m if he can find space for an antenna! QSL

12/03/2011:  Alan, G3XAQ, is expected to be active again as 9G5XA for the

12/03/2011:  Dave, G3TBK, will be active as J88DR from Kingstown, island of

15/03/2011:  Andrew, M6ADB, is planning to activate Wicken Fen (WFF GFF-074,
WAB TL57, IOTA EU-005, WLOTA 1841) on Tuesday 15th March 2011 as homecall/p.
QRV as follows: 07:30 - 09:00 then 14:00 - 16:00 UTC on 20m and 40m
(possibly 17m) at or around the usual frequencies if possible. Start times
subject to some flexibility... end-times pretty fixed. As a reminder, I'm

15/03/2011:  A team of members from the Amateur Radio Society of India plan
to be active as VU4PB from Port Blair, South Andaman Island (IOTA AS-001,
WLOTA 0562, WW Loc. NK62JL), between 15th and 31st of March 2011. Plans are

16/03/2011:  Joe DK5WL (9N7WL), Ernst DK7AN (9N7AN), Georg DL4SVA and Franz
DL9GFB plan to be active from Nepal in a period stretching from mid-March to
early-April 2011. Beginning 16th March, Ernst 9N7AN will commence solo
activity from Kathmandu, with the main part of the DXpedition starting on
26th March once the rest of the team arrives in Nepal. They will operate all

16/03/2011:  Look for Roger, CT8/G3SXW and Lionel, CT8/G5LP to be active
from Sao Miguel Island (IOTA EU-003, DIP AZ-002, PIP AZ-002, WLOTA 2016),
Azores, on 16-17th March 2011. They expect to operate CW only for several

16/03/2011:  Jean-Pierre, F6ITD, will be active as FG/F6ITD from the island
of Basse-Terre (NA-102, DIFO FG-019) on 16-31 March. He will be active using

17/03/2011:  Serge UA0SC, Sergey UA0SE, Alex UA0SW and Igor RZ0SR will be
active as homecall/6W from Le Calao, Somone, Senegal on 17-28th March 2011.

20/03/2011:  Operators Peter VK3ADO, John VK3DQ, Lino VK3EI, Mark VK3FMGF,
Luke VK3HJ and Les VK3MLM will be active as VK7DI/3 from Yaringa (VIC),
Australia (IOTA OC-001, WLOTA 1520), on 20th March 2011 before leaving on a
40-hour voyage to Deal Island (IOTA OC-195, VKFF-260, WW Loc. QF30PN),
Tasmania. QRV on Deal Island for four days as VK7DI on HF using SSB, CW and
EasyPal Digital Slow Scan. Operations will be located at Garden Cove which
is located on the north side of the Island where they will be erecting a
number of Tents ashore and will operate up to three frequencies at any one
time. Power for the station will consist of a number of Batteries with both

23/03/2011:  Chris, F8DZY, will be in Ajaccio, Corsica Island (IOTA EU-014,

a job mission. He will sign TK/F8DZY with activity on 80-10m CW, SSB, RTTY

26/03/2011:  Once again Johnny HQ2JCM, Danny HQ2DMR and Dan HR2DMR will be
active as HQ2W from El Progreso, department of Yoro, Honduras, in the CQWW

11/03/2011:  National Science & Engineering Week will take place between 11
and 20 March 2011. As part of this event, Sheffield Amateur Radio Club is
providing hands-on experience of amateur radio at a local school as well as
to the community at large. On Saturday 12 March between 10am and 4pm the
Club will be at Tapton School. They plan to install two temporary radio
stations and aerials and put the school on the air for the day using the
club callsign GX3RCM/P. They will be working alongside the Sheffield
Astronomical Society who have held an annual exhibition and demonstration at

11/03/2011:  The Radio Club of the Council of Europe will be active on all
bands and modes on 11th to 13th and on the 18th of March 2011 with the call
TP50CE for the 50th Anniversary of the European Social Charter. QSL via

11/03/2011:  Several members (including your editor) from the Northern Ohio
DX Association (NODXA) will be on the air using the special callsign
NO8DX/20 to celebrate the 20th anniversary (11th March 2011) of the
Ohio/Penn DX Bulletin. Activity will take place between 11-13th March. Look
for operation to be on the HF bands and the satellites. A special QSL card

13/03/2011:  Between 13 March and 3 April 2011 GB8HBW and GB0CMR will be on
the air celebrating 85 years of Hospital Radio in the UK. GB8HBW will be
operating in the Newbury area and GB0CMR is in Hinckley for Castle Mead

14/03/2011:  GB1IMW will be on the air from Mepal & Witcham Primary School,
Mepal near Ely in Cambridgeshire. The operation is part of the children's
study and participation in National Science Week for Communications from 14
to 18 March 2011, including 'Red Nose Day'. They will be operating
nationally on 80m and 40m HF and locally on 2m, 6m and 70cm. The organisers

16/03/2011:  The Sands Contest Group are taking part in Science Week from
the Heron Corn Mill, Beetham, Cumbria, England, and will be active on the
Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th of March 2011 using the callsign GB4HCM.
The subject for Science Week 2011 is Communications and the group will be
active on 80m 40m and 20m between 10am and 4pm each day operating both SSB
and DATA modes and there will be a number of interactive displays. GB4HCM is
now a permanent Special callsign for Heron Corn Mill and will be activated
for various events for the mill itself and for Amateur Radio events and

17/03/2011:  As part of Omagh District Council's annual St Patrick's Day
celebrations, West Tyrone Amateur Radio Club, will be on air from Omagh Arts
Centre from 12 noon until 5pm on Thursday 17th March 2011 with the callsign
GB1SPD. As well as being active on all bands the club will be demonstrating

17/03/2011:  Special Event Station GB2SPD will be operating from the home
QTH of 2I0WAI (Martin), located in Portglenone, Co Antrim, Northern Ireland
(WAI/WAB C90 WW Loc. IO64SU), on St Patrick's Day March 17th and possibly up
until 21st March to mark St. Patrick's Day 2011. The station will operate
all bands open to them on the day, and hopes to have a PSK31 station also on

CERAC ACTIVITY -
The Radio Club of the Council of Europe will be active on all bands and
modes on 11-13th and 18th of March 2011 with the call TP50CE for the 50th
Anniversary of the European Social Charter.

J6 - SAINT LUCIA -
Derek, VE3CZF, has spent the last 14 years travelling around the world.
Operated as M0ANG, VK3CZF, ZL2ORA, 9Y4TR. Just moved to St. Lucia, will be
on all bands 80 thru 6 metres, both SSB and CW. This is a permanent move so
will be on daily as J6/VE3CZF. There is no bureau so only direct QSL with
sufficient postage will be answered, No IRC's, (Derek Noel Kirkham, P.O. Box
949, Gablewoods South, Vieux Fort, St. Lucia, West Indies). All received
cards will be answered and if anyone feels they have not received one e-mail
