* PLEASE NOTE: The report "could" contain "Pirate/SLIM" operations or
more likely a "BUSTED CALLSIGN". As always, you never know - "Work
First Worry Later" (WFWL).

3C0C, ANNOBON ISLAND (Now QRT - Now Active As 3C9B). Operators Elmo/EA5BYP
and Javi/EA5KM, active as 3C0C from Annobon Island (AF-039), had to go
QRT on June 17th, "due to logistical problems". Both Elmo and Javi flew
back to Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, and are now active as 3C9B, possibly
until June 21st, or sooner. As of press time, the 3C0C log shows (dated
June 16th) that they made a total of 11,657 QSOs with some 5606 unique

5V7, TOGO (Change in Plans). The announced DXpedition to Gabon (TR) by the
Italian team lead by Silvano, I2YSB, has been cancelled (see OPDX.953).
The new destination for the Italian team will now be Togo (5V), and the
operation will take place during the month of October. The team will be
the same. They plan to operate with three stations on all the bands. No
other details have been provided other than the pilot station will be
IK7JWY. An opened survey on I2YSB's Web page is now available to list

More details should be forthcoming.

AEGEAN VHF & 6M CONTEST 2010. The Aegean DX Group announces that the AEGEAN
VHF & 6m Contest will take place on July 3-4th. Many stations with special
callsigns will operate from all over Greece (J4x, SX1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7x and
also from all Greek islands SX5, 8, 9), as well as from all the Greek
Locators (of course and KM37) and in every mode CW, SSB, FM, RTTY, SSTV,
PSK etc. It will be a great opportunity for every radio amateur to get a
QSL cards from Greek stations on VHF & 6m band for their VHF or 6m Awards
or to simply to confirm Greece on VHF & 6m. The Contest will be held
according to the IARU Band Plan of Region-1 on 50, 144, 432 MHz. There
will be not any QSOs in FM modulation on 50 MHz because it is restricted

Island (IOTA AF-014, Grid IM12JU, ITU Zone 36) during the 2010 IARU HF

CY0, SABLE ISLAND (Update). Randy, N0TG, reports (edited): "Everything
continues to move along preparing for operations October 22-31st. The
charter aircraft has been booked as well as travel arrangements for the
team to meet up in Halifax a couple days prior. The Battle Creek Special
has been received early from the W8 group. Additional items are also
being acquired and will be shipped later this summer to Halifax. Logistics
coordination is being provided by the Halifax Amateur Radio Club's support
and point of contact, Gary, VE1RGB, will identify and coordinate select
items for advance shipment to Sable. We invite everyone to visit the

DXCC NEWS. Bill Moore, NC1L, ARRL Awards Branch Manager, reports that

E2/HS, THAILAND (6 meters!). Champ, E21EIC, informs OPDX that Thai hams
just received a temporary license for 6 meters (50-54MHz) for CQ WW VHF
Contest from NTC (National Telecommunications Commission). They will
allow them to operate 2 days between July 17-18th, 2010 (July 18-19th,
2010 Thailand time) which support from RAST by John/HS1CHB and Champ/
E21EIC. Champs states that no operations on 6 meters have ever been
allowed for 30 years since previous RAST Founder Gen.Kamchai Chotikul or
Kam, HS1WR (SK). However, the last 6 meters operation did take place
during the 1992 SEANET convention in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Champ states,
"This is very good news for all Thai Hams to have the opportunity to
operate 6m. We all hope that the NTC will continue to authorize Thai
Hams to operate 6 meters -- hopefully as for permanent license."

GJ, JERSEY (EU-013). Contest: YL Elena, RV3ACA, will be active as GJ2A
or GJ/OH8CA during the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 24-25th) as a Single-Op/
SSB or Mixed entry. She will be active outside of the contest between
July 21-26th. QSL via RV3ACA.

IOTA NEWS....................
EU-011. Members of the Cray Valley Radio Society team will once again
activate St. Mary's Island in the Isles of Scilly during the
IOTA Contest (July 24-25th). The team will be there between
July 20-26th. In the past the team has operated on all HF
bands prior to the contest using their callsigns/P. During the
contest they will be active as M8C and after until they leave
the Islands under their own callsigns. QSL via G4DFI, the QSL
Manager of M8C and the Club callsign.

EU-012. Fred, ON6QR, will be active as GM/ON6QR from Shetland Island
during the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 24-25th) as a Single-Op/
24-Hr entry. QSL via his home callsign.

EU-055. Operators Jindra/OK1AMM, Franta/OK1HH and Bob/OK2BOB will be
active as LA/homecall from Finnoy Island between 1000z June
23rd and 0600z June 30th. Activity will be on 160-6 meters
using CW and SSB. QSLs via their home callsign, by the Bureau
is "OK".

EU-072. Members of the White Tower DX Team will be active as J48S from
Skopelos Island (LOTA GRE-071, WLOTA-2221, GIOTA NAS-076 and WW
LOC KM19TE) between now and June 26th. Activity will be on 160-2
meters using CW, SSB, RTTY and PSK. QSL via SV2FPU. Operators

EU-076. Wolf, DM2AUJ, will be active as LA/homecall from the Lofoten
Islands between June 24th and July 8th. Activity will be on

EU-118. RARE IOTA! By the time you read this, operators George/EA2TA,
Christian/EA3NT, Col/MM0NDX, Vincent/F4BKV, Simon/IZ7ATN and
Bjorn/SM0MDG should be on their last day activating Eilean Mor
(GRID IO68EH, IOSA OL-01, SCOTIA DI-25, WAB NA74, WLOTA LH-0023
and ARLHS SCO-084) in the Flannan Isles (an extremely difficult
island to land on) and are expected to go QRT during sometime on

EU-123. Iain, MM0TFU, will be active as homecall/p from Blackwaterfoot,
Isle of Arran between July 23-26th. Look for activity before,
during and after the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 24-25th). His
operations will mostly be on 6m outside of the contest. QSL

EU-136. Nicola, IZ3QWV, will be active as 9A/homecall from Krk Island
(ACIA IC-105, CIA-22, IOCA CI-046, MIA MC-185, WLOTA LH-1342)
between July 3-10th. Activity will be casual but on all HF

NA-205. Ken, VO1KVT, will once again be active as VO2MK from Mundy
Island (WW Loc. GO14JL) sometime between July 10-20th. Activity
will be on the HF bands and 6 meters. Please note that only
a 2 day activation is planned between the above dates. QSL via

I.C.P.O. BULLETIN GOING QRT. Dave, VA3RJ, announced this past week that
next week will be his last I.C.P.O. Bulletin (Islands, Castles & Portable
Operations). Dave's I.C.P.O. Bulletin was a great source for WLOTA, WCA,
WFF and other Special Event activities, as well as DX news/activities.
His weekly bulletin will be surely missed. The Editor of the OPDX and
its readers wish to thank Dave for his many years of providing information
to the DX community. Good luck and enjoy the new free time.

J6, ST. LUCIA. By the time you read this, Howard, WB6WXE, will once again
be active as J6/WB4WXE until July 6th. His activity will be mainly on 6
meters, with some HF operations on 17, 15 and 40 meters when 6 meters is
dead. He will use a 6 element beam with 350 watts and operate from a
site which is at 2,000 feet ASL. He will use a 2 element beam on 17 and

PJ2, CURACAO (New Elections on Curacao?). The EUDXF Web reports: "The
Island Council of Curacao was unable to find the two third majority
required for their constitutional change. New elections are to be held
within two months. A new council only needs a simple majority to decide
on the constitutional change aiming for a status aparte for Curacao."

week that the "First batches of each were sent to the Bureau this

9M2HB ON LOTW! Rich, NN3W, reported that over 13,000 9M2HB QSOs have
been uploaded to LoTW on June 17th. He states, "Thanks to NK0S for

Algarve STAR DX Team announced that the logs and video from the recent
CQ7OA Berlenga Island DXpedition last weekend are now available on

PIRATE ALERT. It was announced that a station signing TS7C has been
active. The callsign TS7C was a DXpedition to Kerkenah, Tunisia, in
January 2009. This callsign is unique and hasn't been reissued. All
activity in 2010 under this callsign is the work of a pirate.

SPECIAL EVENT BY LY AND SP STATIONS. Look for Lithuanian and Polish
stations to activate the following special event stations to mark the
600th anniversary of the Battle of Grunwald/Zalgiris (1410-2010). The
Lithuanian Amateur Radio Society (LRMD) will issue special wooden plaques
to those operators and SWLs who fulfill the following conditions:
* Contact special event stations with the LY600 and LY1410 prefixes
(13 stations), SN1410G, SN600G, SP600G, HF600PG, SQ600G and possible
other special event SP stations.
* Collect 600 points between June 16th and August 15th (2010). Points
can be earned as follows:
A. European stations: 100 points for each contact with special
event stations LY600, LY1410 or SP600G, HF600PG, SQ600G
(at least 4 contacts are required); 25 points for each
contact with any other LY or SP station.
B. DX stations: 200 points for each contact with a special event
station LY600 or SP600G, HF600PG, SQ600G (at least 2
contacts are required); 50 points for each contact with
any other LY or SP station. Other Grunwald-Zalgiris
special event stations may operate in Poland during
the period, and they will also count for 100/200 points
each.
* Application deadline: December 31st, 2011. Please send a certified
list of contacts (without your QSLs) and the fee to
the LRMD Award Manager. Please give your E-mail address
in case they need to contact you.

WRTC CALLSIGN ANNOUNCEMENT. The General Radio Frequency Centre of Russian
Federation has just issued special callsigns to be used during the
WRTC-2010 and the 2010 IARU HF World Championship Contest (July 10-11th).

The World Radiosport Team Championship (WRTC) is the major HAM Radio
contest event of year 2010. The WRTC-2010 will take place near Russia's
capital Moscow where 50 teams from all over the world will compete in

"Vanuatu 2010 DXpedition News Release -- In co-operation with ODXG, a group
of four Australian amateurs will be activating Vanuatu (YJ0) from August
27th until September 2nd. The accommodation and flights are booked and
the team is waiting on callsign allocation from the Vanuatu government.
Chris/VK3QB (Leader), Allan/VK2CA, Luke/VK3HJ and Brenton/VK3CBV will
spend six days and nights working the HF bands from the Island of Efate –
as well enjoying some of the sites of this beautiful country.
More details will be released in the coming 2 weeks including Web site
details, QSL details and likely bands/modes. However, at this stage the
team plans to keep things simple with two HF stations limited to 100 watts
and vertical and wire dipole antennas. For more information please contact

ZA, ALBANIA (Update - IOTA Op!). Kris, HA5X, in Albania until June 24th,
will receive transportation by the Albanian Navy to Sazan Island (IOTA
EU-169, M.I.A. MA-01, LH. ALB-004 and L-0028) early Monday morning (EU
time) on June 21st. He expects to be active by noon and will stay on
